1947 : The setting up of « Compagnie Générale de Transport » (CGT) with a network mainly oriented toward France.

1962 : Independence of ALGERIA

1963 : Algerian State took possession of 51% of AIR ALGERIE’s assets .

1970 : Algerian State raised its participation up to 83%.

1973 : The Algerian State joined to AIR ALGERIE the « Société de Travail Aérien » (STA).

1974 : Algerian State bought out the 17% shares still detained by Air France and then became a 100% owner of AIR ALGERIE.

1983 : The Company is split up into separate Enterprises , one for the domestic Air Traffic (IAS), another for International Air Traffic.

1984 : The two (02) Companies above mentioned mergered again and took in charge terminals management.

1987 : AIR ALGERIE is relieved from terminals management.

1998 : Liberalization of Air Transport .

2000 : AIR ALGERIE’s assets are up to six (06) billion Algerian Dinars.

2002 : AIR ALGERIE’s assets raised up to fourteen (14) billion Algerian dinars.
